Frame size & riding position
Bike sizing in Hamburg
The size, before you decide
Did you buy your bike from us, or have you chosen a new bike from us? Then we’ll set it up for you too.
Arrange an appointment with us in advance. Bring your cycling shoes and clothing with you that day. We’ll take care of the rest on site, so that you’ll ride even better on your bike in future.

What bike sizing is with us
We take your measurements and your range of movement, hold them against the geometry of the bikes that come into question for you, and set the frame size from that. Then we set the bike up for you: saddle height, saddle setback, bar height, stem length, cockpit width.
That is sizing. It answers two questions: which size? And how does the bike stand in relation to you?
How we measure
On the left, four body measurements: height, shoulder width, arm length and inseam. On the right, the two frame measurements stack and reach.

What bike sizing is not — and who does it
A bike fitting is something else. It goes deeper: motion analysis on a measuring rig, video, pressure measurement at saddle and pedals, often across several appointments, often with a medical background. That is done by specialists who do nothing else.
We do not do fitting. If you need one — with pain, after an injury, or when you are working on the last minute over the distance — we say so and name you someone who can. An honest referral beats a service we only half deliver.
When sizing is enough
For the great majority, sizing is enough. Anyone buying a new bike, moving over from an old frame, or getting neck trouble again after the winter — those are sizing questions. It becomes fitting where the trouble stays although the bike fits.
How it goes
On site, by appointment, in the shop. Bring your bike if you have one, and the shoes you ride in. At the end the size is settled — and if you buy a bike, it stands in front of you set up, instead of you starting to turn bolts at home.
