Bike Technology Explained Simply

A flat tire can often be fixed directly with the right knowledge. Other defects or worn components, however, should be identified early and replaced professionally. In our workshop, we therefore imparted fundamental knowledge about typical bike maintenance and repairs. The focus was not on quickly completing individual steps, but on providing you with a clear insight into the technology and correct workflows.

If you understand your bike, you can better assess wear and perform minor repairs more confidently.

From Wheels to Handlebar Tape

Using a demo bike from our shop, the workshop team demonstrated step-by-step how to properly remove and install wheels. Next, we covered changing tires and tubes, and correctly patching a damaged tube. Replacing a chain, changing brake pads, and neatly wrapping new handlebar tape were also part of the program.

Every step is explained clearly and accessibly, directly on the demo bike.

Hands-On Learning

The workshop was structured as a practical training session. You didn't need to bring your own bikes; instead, you could fully concentrate on the techniques demonstrated. After the explanations, you had the opportunity to try out individual steps on the demo bike and ask questions directly to the workshop team.

With only ten participants, the workshop was intentionally held in a small group. This allowed ample space to observe individual steps up close and discuss technical details thoroughly. At the same time, everyone who wanted to pick up tools and apply what they learned practically had the chance.

More Confidence in Handling Your Own Bike

The goal of the workshop was not to replace professional bike workshops. Rather, you were to develop a better understanding of your bike and learn which tasks you could confidently handle yourself. The newly acquired knowledge helps you identify wear early, correctly assess minor breakdowns, and use your own bike more consciously in everyday life.
